Summary
James 3:13-18 contrasts destructive attitudes (bitterness, jealousy, selfish ambition) with true wisdom (purity, peacefulness, gentleness, mercy, sincerity). The pastor calls believers to choose the path of wisdom through humility rather than following natural impulses toward disorder and division.
Highlights
Just because it's natural doesn't mean it's right. There are a lot of things that flow very natural to me that aren't right, and the reason why many of you never have victory in your Christian life is because you naturally give in to the impulses that you feel.
You cannot be a prideful, wise person according to the Bible. Those two things are an oxymoron. Humility according to the Bible is the pathway to wisdom.
The kind of change that we're talking about today is not possible without the Lord Jesus Christ in your life. You need a new nature that only Jesus Christ can give you when you surrender your life to him.
