Paul exhorts the Galatian church to live in the freedom Christ purchased through the gospel, rejecting both the legalism of works-based righteousness and the licentiousness of self-gratification. True freedom means standing firm in grace, removing false doctrines, and serving one another in love.

God is saying, I haven't freed you so that you would just be objectively free. I've freed you so that you would be subjectively free as well, that you would experience the freedom of God here, now, right in this moment.
The free life is a life without chains, is a life that is so free that you're free from yourself and your selfish desires. It's so free that you want to help free others from their chains.
Legalism and grace cannot coexist. You can't have the doctrine of grace and the doctrine of legalism in your life.
