Summary
Abraham's rescue of Lot from captivity illustrates how a relationship with God shapes what believers fight for: people over power, heavenly treasure over earthly wealth, and respect over worldly acceptance. Jesus embodies this pattern perfectly, fighting for enslaved sinners and offering them the spoils of his victory.
Highlights
What you fight for is what you're known for. We should be fighters. We just shouldn't fight for power. We should fight for people.
Christianity is about choosing to follow Jesus above all else. It's about passing over from whatever you've been following to following Jesus.
While you and I act like Lot, Jesus Christ acts like Abram. When you got enslaved, Jesus came and rescued you. He won the victory that you could never win and he gave you a new lease on life.
