The reason that we never quite feel whole is because we're not, and the reason that we feel so often even when our lives are so full of stuff, the reason it feels like there's a piece missing from ourselves and from our lives, the Bible says the reason you feel that way is because there is.
God is not distant but he is near. God has come near and not just close to us in space and time but God has actually come near to us in likeness.
The reason his name is Emmanuel is because God came for us to be with us. This is not good news because there's a path to God or it's not good news because Jesus is gonna show us the way—the reason is God came for us.
