Summary
Hebrews 13 concludes the epistle with eight practical exhortations for living in the new covenant community: love one another, show hospitality, remember the persecuted, honor marriage and sexual purity, find contentment in God's provision, remember past leaders, reject false teachings, and obey present church leaders. These commands flow from gratitude for Christ's once-for-all sacrifice.
Highlights
Don't worry about sacrificing bulls and goats anymore. That doesn't make you righteous. Jesus does. Love him, praise him, and do good to your brothers and sisters and to all people.
The way of life is not the thing that saves us or makes us right with God. Rather this is the life that we're called to out of gratitude for our high priest Jesus who has already accepted us.
We have a throne of grace that we can go to boldly because our high priest Jesus—He's done all the work to purify us. We don't need to be ashamed when we show up asking for help.
