Obadiah exposes how pride deceives and isolates us from God, using the ancient feud between Jacob and Esau to illustrate that nations and individuals who trust in their own strength face divine judgment. Pride is taking credit which rightly belongs to God and ascribing it to ourselves without acknowledging him.
Just as God didn't forget Israel after the judgment of Edom, he doesn't forget us either. And just so you know, the vessel by which all will be judged has already come. And his name is Jesus.
We don't have to be a victim of our pride. We just have to strive to live more like him every single day.
