The one thing that makes Christianity radically different than every other religion is the concept of grace. Christianity is not an escape religion. It's a rescue religion.
You don't have to be perfect for God to love you. Christ has done everything necessary for you. And if you're in him, you're accepted.
The problem with legalism is it takes your eyes off of Jesus and puts them on yourself. The problem with syncretism is it takes your eyes off of Jesus and puts them onto culture.
