Marriage and Singleness

Summary
Paul addresses a specific problem in the Corinthian church where some believers wrongly advocate for celibacy even within marriage, rejecting God's good gift of sexual relations. Paul teaches that marriage requires mutual responsibility and harmony between spouses, not the assertion of personal rights, and emphasizes that both singleness and marriage are gifts from God—the overarching concern being undistracted devotion to Christ.
Highlights
Marriage is the giving of oneself. It's to work itself out in harmony. And just like any good orchestra or bands up here, they have to work at this. They have to practice it. They play wrong notes. But they work at it so they can play in harmony to make beautiful music.
For every one of us, there's hope that we can walk in and grow in holiness. For God is more powerful than we are, His Spirit who dwells within us is at work in us, His grace is sufficient for us, His good can overcome our bad.
When the tempter would prevail, he will hold me fast. He's going to hold on to us. Even when our faith is shaky and temptations are strong, God will not let his children go.
