Summary
Mark's Gospel culminates in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, presented as history's most profound event. The pastor establishes Jesus as uniquely divine and powerful throughout Mark's account, then unpacks the Easter resurrection as the decisive victory over death itself, promising believers transformed, eternal bodies and calling for faith in Christ and hope sustained through present suffering.
Highlights
Christianity fundamentally is about following a person, believing in him, walking with him, obeying what he says, loving him above all else, trusting that he has the answers, that he is the answer for eternal life and even for this life.
On this Sunday morning, Jesus Christ conquered that curse, our worst enemy, and our greatest fear, and he conquered the sin that brought it all.
When we're finally with Him, when He comes back, we have resurrected bodies, we're in His presence forever. We'll look back to these days, all of our suffering and the journey of faith, and we'll say, 'You know what? It was all worth it. It was so worth it.'
