Summary
Jesus teaches that pursuing a "good enough" life through personal achievement and moral compliance is a spiritual trap; true life comes only through radical surrender to Christ, releasing all competing allegiances so that complete dependence on him becomes possible.
Highlights
Jesus plus something equals nothing. Jesus plus nothing equals everything.
When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die. The only way to live in Christ is to die and to surrender everything of self.
If you will simply cling to him and nothing else, then you will have everything you need and far more. If you let go and give it all for the glory of God, you will lack nothing.
