Summary
Jesus redefines greatness in God's kingdom as humble service to the lowly and outcast, not worldly status or position. Through Luke 9:46-50, the pastor challenges disciples—and modern listeners—to reject the world's definition of greatness (upward mobility, acclaim, power) and instead embrace Christ's pattern of lowering oneself to serve others.
Highlights
To be great in the kingdom is to serve. To be great in the kingdom is to receive the outcast. To be great in the kingdom is to celebrate the grace of God on others.
If serving is below you, then leading is beyond you.
We are all but servants of him. All but people who've been forgiven by him. All but people who've been empowered by his spirit to be a part of his work.
