Summary
Jesus's longest recorded prayer reveals his desire for the church to be unified around God's word, with one another, and for the sake of gospel mission. Unity flows from believers' union with Christ and reflects the Godhead's character, transforming relationships and witness.
Highlights
A unified church is a powerful church. Satan does not want a unified church because he knows the gospel is powerful and the church will be built if people preach it, so his only option is to distract and divide us.
When God the Father looks down at you, he doesn't see your failures or your past—he sees the perfect victorious righteousness of his son, Jesus Christ, because you have union with him.
You will never completely love until you know you are completely loved. But if you have the incredible, unconditional love of God for you in Christ, it frees you to be a remarkably loving person.
