Summary
Psalm 103:13-17 reveals God as a compassionate heavenly father whose everlasting love contrasts with human transience. The pastor urges listeners to recover their sense of awe in God's character, moving beyond viewing him as a distant judge to embracing him as a loving father who draws near during weakness and sin.
Highlights
Do not read your earthly dad's failures and shortcomings and sins into the picture of who God wants to be in your life. He is a totally different kind of father.
Every single one of us are weak, and it is his knowledge of your weakness, the knowledge of your sin that draws him closer to you. This is different than any other God.
Our sins and weaknesses are the very resume items that qualify us to approach him. Nothing but coming to him is required.
