Summary
Jesus teaches the parable of the Good Samaritan in response to a lawyer's self-justifying question about neighborliness. Rather than asking "who is my neighbor," Jesus reframes the discussion to challenge believers to ask "who can I be a neighbor to?" through sacrificial compassion.
Highlights
When we love something, we don't limit it, we move towards it in extravagance.
If we have no margin for helping people who are needy, we have no margin for being a disciple of Jesus.
Jesus Christ comes to turn robbers into heirs, sinners into saints, orphans into children.
