Summary
Matthew 13:24-30 teaches that God's kingdom contains both wheat (true believers) and weeds (false believers) until harvest. Jesus is sovereign over the world, patiently allowing evil to coexist with good, confident that ultimate justice will come through either the cross (transforming weeds into wheat) or final judgment (burning weeds away).
Highlights
Jesus is not rushed. He is not frenzied. Your God is not worried. Your God is not in a rush. He is not anxious about your future, antsy for you to change, or in any way nervous about his world, he is God.
What if all of the things that you think should be called out, done away with, and eradicated from the world, the church of your life, what if all of those things are not actually obstacles to your growth, but an opportunity for your fruit to stand out?
The cross is enough. You guys being in the kingdom of God is a really really good thing. We have a king who is more sovereign than we could ever imagine, who is more patient than we would ever be on our own, and he's patient because he knows what justice is coming.
