Summary
Paul teaches the Corinthians that salvation and understanding the gospel come through God's Spirit, not human wisdom or eloquence. The eternal gospel, predestined before time began, can only be comprehended when God opens hearts and minds—a truth demonstrated in the disciples' confusion until after the resurrection and in Paul's own conversion from persecutor to apostle.
Highlights
Every one of us is utterly dependent upon God's Spirit to open our eyes to understand this eternal heavenly truth.
You are not that person, your friends, your family member's savior. That is a burden you do not want to bear. We speak, God saves.
We once were just like them, except for the mercy of God who, for whatever his kindness, opened our eyes to see Jesus and he saved us.
