Summary
Jesus proclaims himself as the living water at the Feast of Booths, revealing his identity as God incarnate and the fulfillment of Israel's messianic hopes. The crowd misunderstands who Jesus is because they expect a political messiah rather than God in flesh who offers spiritual salvation. Christians must recognize Jesus as their true source of spiritual satisfaction rather than pursuing empty worldly substitutes.
Highlights
Christians I can't help but believe that many of you become frustrated with Jesus because he's not the Savior you want him to be. That who Jesus is to you is someone who's supposed to help you find a spouse. To get through school. To get the job that you want it. In which Jesus becomes a means to an end instead of a God to worship.
The rock in the wilderness was a shadow of the true and greater rock of salvation because Jesus was the one who would one day be struck by the rod of God's wrath and out of his struck and broken body would flow rivers of living water to all those who are thirsty.
You are taking the buffet of the world instead of the living raging streams of the living God. You cannot remove the presence of the spirit in your life but you can quench its control in your life.
