Summary
Psalm 8 calls believers to worship God by recognizing his majesty in creation, justice, and his personal care for humanity. David's model demonstrates that authentic worship begins and ends with understanding God's true nature and character, responding to his glory with full affection and attention rather than distraction or self-focused preferences.
Highlights
Worship is reflecting the glory of God back to him. Our God is self-sufficient, and so no matter how you worship, no matter how good you are at worshiping, we don't add anything to his glory. What we do is we see the glory of God, and we respond to it.
Whatever you give weight to in your life, you glorify. And so the question is: Is that said of God in your life? Or have other things crept in and taken their seat?
You ever just sat and paused at the God who created the cosmos thinks fondly of you? That he knows the number of hairs on your head, that he knows what your week was like this week, what your week's gonna look like next week.
