Jesus' suffering in Gethsemane—becoming our sin and drinking the cup of God's wrath—demonstrates that Christians are never abandoned in their suffering. When believers understand Christ's substitutionary sacrifice, they can draw near to God through their own pain by suffering honestly, prayerfully, and in community.

When you're suffering, it is so comforting to talk to someone who understands. Jesus understands your suffering.
You are never forsaken because God loves you so much that he was willing to send Jesus Christ to be forsaken for you.
